The Sluggers baseball program started in 1991. The Sluggers baseball program and it’s league, Premier Baseball, is a nationally known baseball program, well respected in amateur baseball circles. The reputation has developed from the hard-nosed style of play and the success against the top baseball organizations in the country. In 2003, the Nebraska Sluggers had for the first time, two teams playing on the national scene. This past year, one of the best Nebraska Sluggers teams was formed and competed throughout the Central United States against some of the finest travel teams in the region from Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.

The Sluggers program has been the avenue for college-bound athletes. Premier Baseball League players are represented well within Major League Baseball.

In 2014, Casey Gillaspie became the highest pick in Nebraska Sluggers history, as the 20th pick in the first round by the Tampa Bay Rays.
In 2009 & 2010, Premier Baseball had the overall #2 pick in the MLB Draft…Kevin Ahrens of the Houston Heat and Jameson Taillon of Kyle Chapman.
Premier baseball has recorded the last two AL Cy Young Award winners with Max Scherzer of the Rawlings Prospects and Corey Kluber of the Huston Heat.
